“On April 11th I was barefoot water skiing in Texas when I fell and slapped my ear on the water, resulting in a ruptured eardrum and an extremely debilitating, treatment-resistant tinnitus. I was told by multiple ENTs that there was nothing I could do for it and I’d most likely have to live with it for the rest of my life. They just wanted to prescribe some lipoflavonoid and send me on my way. At this point my anxiety and depression hit a low that I have never experienced before. I couldn’t get out of bed, couldn’t eat, and trying to get me to speak was like pulling teeth. If my eyes were open there were tears in them. I lost 15 pounds in the first week of my ear ringing. I researched daily about tinnitus and saw that for many people it just doesn’t go away and if you’re lucky, you just learn to live with it. I say all of this so you know the place I was in before I walked into Dr. Jason’s office. I was in a place I never thought I would get out of. I was depressed. I was afraid. I was someone I didn’t recognize anymore. On Wednesday, May 20th, I had an appointment with Dr. Jason. I was confused on why my mom made me an appointment with a chiropractor, but I was willing to try anything. When I first walked into the office I had low expectations. Every other doctor I met with gave me nothing but disappointing answers with no solution - but by the end of my first visit, my tinnitus rating dropped in half from a 10/10 to a 5/10.

I was shocked, and so happy. It was the first time I truly smiled in a month. At my second treatment Jason mentioned that I might have had a concussion from the fall. My head slapped the water going 40 miles per hour and no other doctor even thought about that. He did a few tests on me and evaluated my symptoms. When I closed my eyes my lids continued to flutter, my hand eye coordination was off, and I felt really spaced out. I remember I was scared to drive up until I started rehab with Jason because I felt like I was in a constant daze and it didn’t feel safe for me to drive. After checking everything over, Jason said he thought I had lingering side effects from a concussion. So, we began exercises for that too. After about 2 weeks of therapy my tinnitus was knocked down even more, down to a rating of 2/10. After about 6-8 weeks of therapy my ringing stopped. July 4th was the first time I could say it out loud: my tinnitus was gone. After I finished therapy Jason gave me exercises I could do at home. Now I am almost 7 months out from my initial injury and I can honestly say I have no idea where or who I would be without Dr.Jason’s therapy and rehab. I will never be able to repay Jason for what he has done for me. Dr.Jason is an outstanding doctor, but above that he is an even better person. His positive attitude is contagious, and after walking into his office at my lowest of lows he gave me hope and a purpose to live another day. When you go to Jason, you don’t feel like you are going to the doctor's office. He makes you hopeful, and excited to get better. And with the progress made in my treatment, it drew me closer to God. There is nothing I could ever do to thank Jason enough for what he has done for me. When my ear first began to ring I questioned God. I wondered why this had to happen, why is this so hard, why me? After meeting Dr. Jason and healing my inner ear and brain, I can say without a doubt that I was injured in order to help other people find doctors like Jason. I will continue to refer people to him till I am blue in the face. And I hope that anyone who walks in his doors gets to find the hope and purpose he instilled in me.”
